INM INM
The Montpellier Institute of Neuroscience (INM) is the Joint Research Unit U1298 Inserm/University of Montpellier. It comprises 8 Inserm teams and a workforce of 200 individuals working on sensory-motor deficits and neurodegeneration. The INM aims to conduct fundamental and translational research to study the development, plasticity, synaptic integration, and neurodegenerative processes leading to disorders of the central and sensory-motor systems.
Inserm Inserm
Established in 1964, Inserm is a public institution of a scientific and technological nature, under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Research. Dedicated to biological, medical, and human health research, it covers the entire spectrum from laboratory research to patient care. Internationally, it partners with major institutions involved in the challenges and scientific advancements in these fields.
CNRS CNRS
The French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) is one of the world's foremost research institutions. To tackle current and future challenges, its scientists explore living organisms, matter, the Universe, and the functioning of human societies. Internationally renowned for the excellence of its scientific work, the CNRS is a reference both in the realm of research and development and for the general public.
NEuroBioStand NEuroBioStand
NEuroBioStand is an EU-funded project aimed at developing a metrological research framework for standardizing biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs), ensuring equivalent results among different measurement procedures, and facilitating the establishment of common reference intervals and cut-off values. Reference measurement procedures (RMPs) and pilot certified reference materials (CRMs) will be developed for P-tau and NfL and a feasibility study will be conducted on GFAP along with the development of MS-based approaches to monitor the conformational state of proteins involved in neurodegeneration. This work is accomplished through tight collaboration among NMIs/Dis, academics, clinicians, and industry, under the umbrella of the IFCC WG-BND. The long-term goal is to have robust and accurate blood tests capable of providing reliable values for the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases.
CoEN CoEN
Since June 2015, the University Hospital of Montpellier, in partnership with the University of Montpellier, has been one of the centers of excellence in the CoEN program. The overall objective of this program is to build a collaborative research activity in neurodegeneration research beyond borders, focusing on critical mass and excellence.
UM UM
The University of Montpellier has nearly 48,000 students and 4,800 staff members. Inheriting the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier (1220) and possessing an exceptional historical heritage, it brings together a wide range of disciplines: sciences and technology, law, economics, environment, administration, management, medicine, pharmacy, physical and sports activities, biology, computer science, education sciences, political science, and more.
